Track Machine Operator

Allied Track Services is a growing, fast paced company looking for individuals who exhibit excellent work ethics and are able to work safely and efficiently. We are especially seeking experienced Track Machine Operators to take a leading role in the expansion of our on-track services.

Job description – Track Machine Operator

A Track Machine Equipment Operator works in a variety of roles, on machines and on the ground, following safe work procedures and ensuring safe, timely service to clients. Being mechanically inclined is an absolute must.

Main duties 

  • Operate machines and equipment such as tampers, ballast regulators, Tie inserters, speed swings to maintain and repair railway tracks 
  • All documentation and Due Diligence
  • Clean and make minor repairs to machines and equipment
  • Inspect all equipment before use and document deficiencies
  • Report all safety concerns and incidents to Supervisor
  • Comply with internal H&S requirements
  • Perform other track maintenance duties as directed

Reports to 

  • Working Foreman
  • Project Supervisor

Employment requirements

  •  Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience on large work equipment (On track preferred)
  • Rules (CROR) qualifications an asset
  • Prequalification’s require security clearance background check through third party
  • Reliable, self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment, make decisions based on company policies and procedures (on-the-job training is provided)
  • Valid G license with clean abstract, own transportation


  • Pay range scaled to LIUNA Rail Agreement according to experience, knowledge and training 
  • Performance bonus based on achieving individual and corporate goals and objectives
