CPKC
Tom Bourgonje was appointed Vice-President Engineering at CPKC in June 2022. In this role, he is responsible for track infrastructure across CPKC’s North American network.
He joined the company earlier in 2022 as Assistant Vice-President Engineering, bringing more than 40 years of experience in the railroad industry, including numerous engineering and operations leadership roles across Canada and the United States.
Tom began his railway career in 1980 with CN, where he held a variety of positions within the Engineering function, ultimately rising to Assistant Vice-President Engineering before retiring in 2022. During his time at CN, he also spent nine years in transportation leadership roles. Following his retirement, Tom worked as a railroad consultant for two years before joining CPKC.
Tom earned a civil engineering degree from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 1990 and is a registered Professional Engineer. He is based in Calgary, Alberta.
