Total Indonesian imports of rail transport equipment was 33.807 million in 2008, and Canadian exports to Indonesia of railway and traffic signalling equipment stood at 26.4 million, up from 600,000 in 2007 (4352% increase) due mainly to the sale of 9 locomotives during the FY.

Opportunities: There is a demand for locomotives, rail freight cars (especially gondola cars), and electric passenger rail-cars for urban transport as well as signalling systems and train simulators.
