Serbia - Belgrade

The investments planned in the transportation infrastructure development and rehabilitation in Serbia in the next 1-2 years exceed Euro 3 billion, and most of the financing has already been secured from IFIs. Government will issue guarantees in the value of Euro 2.12 bn in 2009 for loans for development of Corridor X transportation route, both road and rail, connecting north-west with south-east Europe, for construction of bridges and for a ring road around Belgrade.

Airline fleet modernization: possible sale or lease-to-purchase arrangement of 4-5 aircraft of CRJ type for JAT (national carrier); sale of Challenger aircraft to two major private companies; sale of 2 CL 415 fire fighting aircraft to the government of Serbia and one to Montenegro.

Belgrade Metro project: Two big Canadian companies are Active/interested

Consulting services for training in air navigation area: Canadian company interested; another comany is looking at setting up a partnership arrangement with JAT flight Academy for training of pilots. There are some opportunities in the area of concessions that will be offered for some sections of new roads and privatization of JAT. S & T is not relevant for this sector at the moment.
