We would like to inform our members and partners that the Canadian Association of Railway Suppliers (CARS) will be closed on Monday, September 30th, in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This important day honours the children who never returned home and the Survivors of residential schools, along with their families and communities. It serves as a reminder of the tragic and painful history of residential schools in Canada, as well as the ongoing impacts these schools have on Indigenous peoples.
As a nation, public commemoration of this history is a crucial part of the reconciliation process. By reflecting on the importance of healing and acknowledging the injustices of the past, we move closer toward meaningful reconciliation.
This federal statutory holiday was established through legislative amendments by Parliament, recognizing the need to confront the difficult truths of our history and build a future founded on understanding and respect.
We encourage everyone to take time on this day to learn, reflect, and engage in conversations about the ongoing journey toward truth and reconciliation.
We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, October 1st.
