Role Overview: As a Government Affairs Specialist at CARS, you will play a pivotal role in connecting with government decision-makers, analyzing legislation, and developing strategies to influence policy outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the long-term sustainability of the railway supplier industry in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with policymakers, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
• Analyze proposed legislation and regulatory developments.
• Develop strategies to influence policy outcomes in favor of railway suppliers.
• Build strong relationships with government officials.
• Write Letters of Request to Government Officials and create weekly 'Government Initiatives' e-blasts for members.
• Articulate industry issues and advocate for CARS members.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in both French and English.
• Lobbying experience in the transportation/rail industry.
• Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
• Experience in government relations, preferably in transportation.
• Ability to conduct research in related fields.
