GRIMSBY, Ontario (April 4th 2018) – Allied Track Services (ATS) is pleased to announce several corporate and operating developments geared to improving its capacity and ability to deliver services to its customers across Canada and the Southern / Central US.
Allied acquired Texas based Pittsburg Bottom Line Company (BL) in November 2017 as the first step of its strategic expansion into the US rail market. Based in Pittsburg, TX, BL provides safe, quality competitive railroad bridge maintenance and construction services to customers in the US as well as railroad MOW and construction services. Former owners, Casey & Ryan Turner have been retained and remain in day to day management of the operations.
Allied announces that Andy Jones has been named Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Allied Track Services and Bottom Line Company. In his new expanded role Andy takes executive responsibility for all Track, Signals & Communications Operations including equipment and fleet within Canada as well as the US operations of Bottom Line Company Inc. Andy has over 18 years of civil and rail design and construction management experience in North America and the UK, since joining Allied in 2015 Andy has held the position of Chief Operating Officer and has been instrumental in driving the company’s significant growth through that time. A chartered Civil Engineer, Andy graduated from the University of Wales Cardiff, School of Engineering.
Allied is also pleased to announce the executive appointment of Mr. Grant N. Vale as Chief Commercial Officer & General Manager Western Track Operations. Grant brings over 38 years of rail and transit systems, track and equipment experience to the Allied team having held a number of senior positions within the railway systems supply market, Canadian Pacific Railway and most recently as Regional Director for Canada with Harsco Rail. Grant will be responsible for the safe management of Allied’s western track operations in addition to a wider business development and commercial leadership role for all Allied operations in the US and Canada. Grant graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Finally, Allied Track Services announces the establishment of a new Western facility in Calgary, Alberta. This new facility will provide Allied with the ability to service support its western Canada track fleet in closer proximity to its customers’ needs, house the newly established Western Canada track operations team under Mr. Grant Vale to increase management presence in western Canada and also support its Signals & Communications business expansion in the Western plains.
