Celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day

Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we at the Canadian Association of Railway Suppliers (CARS) are proud to join the nation in celebrating and honoring the rich heritage, diverse cultures, and significant contributions of Indigenous peoples across Canada.

Acknowledging the History and Culture

National Indigenous Peoples Day is a time to recognize the history, culture, and traditions of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Their deep connection to the land, their resilience, and their vibrant cultures have been, and continue to be, an integral part of Canada's identity.

Recognizing Contributions

Indigenous communities have made invaluable contributions to various sectors, including the railway industry. Their knowledge, skills, and traditions have enriched our industry, and their leadership continues to inspire us all. Today, we acknowledge and celebrate these contributions, while committing to fostering stronger relationships built on respect and mutual understanding.

Commitment to Reconciliation

CARS is dedicated to supporting the journey towards reconciliation. We understand the importance of creating an inclusive and respectful environment that honors the rights, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. As part of this commitment, we strive to incorporate Indigenous perspectives and voices into our work, and to promote opportunities for Indigenous participation and collaboration within the railway industry.

Join Us in Celebration

We encourage everyone to take this day to learn more about the history and cultures of Indigenous peoples in Canada. Participate in local events, listen to Indigenous voices, and engage in conversations that foster understanding and respect.

From all of us at CARS, Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! Let’s celebrate together and continue to work towards a future of inclusivity and respect for all.
