CUTA Board of Directors Appoints Patrick Leclerc as President & CEO

Published on May 15, 2015

The Canadian Urban Transit Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Leclerc as President & Chief Executive Officer, effective June 15, 2015. Patrick currently occupies to role of Vice President, Strategic Development and has been leading the Communications and Public Affairs department since joining the organization in 2010. He replaces Michael Roschlau, who is retiring at the end of June.

“Enthusiasm, vision, strategy, leadership and humility were the first words that came to mind after Patrick’s interview with the Search Committee. These skills and attributes, combined with his broad knowledge of our association and industry, position him not only as the best choice among the candidates we interviewed but, most importantly, as the best candidate we could have wished for to lead CUTA over the next years and position the organization and the industry for the next decade”, said Daniel Bergeron, Chair of the Board of Directors.

The Search Committee, comprised of members of CUTA’s Governance Committee, with the support of an executive search firm, led a comprehensive and thorough process to find the ideal candidate for this role. “I congratulate Patrick on his appointment as CUTA’s new President & CEO and I am confident that Patrick is the right person to lead our association forward, given his passion and strategic vision for CUTA”, said Sue Connor, CUTA First Vice Chair and Chair of the Search Committee.

“I am delighted with the appointment of Patrick as our next President & CEO. Since joining CUTA five years ago, Patrick has demonstrated impressive strengths and leadership qualities that will move us to the next level. It will be a smooth and seamless transition and I am confident that CUTA will be in excellent hands,” said Michael Roschlau, CUTA’s President & CEO.

The transition between CEOs will take place during the second half of June, following the Annual Conference in Winnipeg. The Board of Directors takes this opportunity to thank Michael Roschlau for his dedication and outstanding contribution to CUTA. The organization wouldn’t be where it is today without his vision, expertise and leadership.

“I am honored and grateful to have the opportunity to lead CUTA, an organization with a rich history, a strong track record and a bright future. Public transit plays a key role in building vibrant communities and improving the quality of life of citizens and it is energizing and inspiring to be part of such a great industry. Together, we will build on our success and create opportunities to enhance value to members and position public transit and integrated urban mobility as a top priority across the country”, said Patrick Leclerc.
