Transport Canada is proposing to update the marine provisions in Part 11 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR) and special case provided for at section 1.30 of the TDGR which grants exemptions for short-run ferries. Please refer to the attached consultation document for detailed information.

Transport Canada is soliciting feedback from interested parties with respect to this proposal and requesting the voluntary submission of information related to the transport of dangerous goods by ferry, the needs of the communities served by the ferry services and shippers and consignors that use these ferries to transport dangerous goods.

The feedback received will assist in the analysis of the potential impacts that could result from the proposal as well as influence the regulatory amendments that will be published in the Canada Gazette, Part I.

Comments may be provided using the attached form named “COMMENTS” and voluntary information may be provided using the attached form named “FEEDBACK QUESTIONNAIRE”.
