DORVAL, April 20, 2015 – RailTerm is pleased to announce the appointment of Philippe Cheong as Associate Vice President, Systems. Philippe is a Professional Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University. He joins Jason Fries’ growing software and S&C team following a 30-year career at Canadian National Railway where he led some of their most important signaling, communications and train control initiatives.

Such projects included the CN MacMillan yard, where Phil relocated an entire dispatch centre in less than 3 months with zero train delays, and VIA Rail’s Kingston subdivision, where he supervised the installation of 40 miles of a third main track in four separate segments including signal design and the installation of 12 CTC controlled locations.

"We are very pleased to welcome Philippe to the RailTerm team," said RailTerm president Rob Wheeler. "RailTerm is aiming to become a market leader in signals & communications and to achieve that it will be all about the strength of our team. Phil is a key addition - given his long experience, his deep technical knowledge and proven leadership skills - and we believe his arrival positions us very well for growth."

Said Cheong, "I’m thrilled to be joining a young, ambitious and dynamic Systems team, supported by the strong core of experienced railroaders at RailTerm. Advanced communications and signals technology is something that interests me greatly, and perfectly matches the RailTerm service offering."

Philippe will be located in Toronto and can be reached at 647-637-3891 or by email at pcheong@railterm.com.
