Announcing Justin Meyer as a Speaker for National Railway Day 2024

We are excited to announce Justin Meyer, Senior Vice President of Operations for CPKC, as a featured speaker for National Railway Day 2024!

Justin began his remarkable career with CPKC (formerly CP) in 1998 as an Engineer in Training and has steadily risen through the ranks over the past 26 years. In 2022, he took on an expanded role overseeing Mechanical Operations (car and locomotive) as well as Operations Technology, a critical area driving CPKC’s sustainability efforts.

Under Justin’s leadership, his team has pioneered groundbreaking innovations like the hydrogen locomotive and conversion kits for diesel-electric locomotives, which won Canada’s Hydrogen Mobility Award in 2022. This work is a cornerstone of CPKC’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and embracing sustainable rail solutions.

In addition to his technical achievements, Justin also serves as the Chair of CPKC’s Diversity & Inclusion Council. The Council focuses on creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every CPKC railroader feels valued and can achieve their full potential, spanning across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.

Justin's industry contributions have been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named Railway Track and Structures’ Engineer of the Year in 2021.
